Jesus (Jay) Sanchelima, who is admitted to the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, has been a Registered Patent Attorney since 1977, when he founded the firm. Mr. Sanchelima received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami in 1976 and his Bachelor’s in Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida with High Honors. With over ten years’ experience as an engineer in the electronics industry, he brings a unique approach to the protection of intellectual property, yielding practical results to the firm’s clients.

Mr. Sanchelima has prosecuted and obtained over 400 U.S. patents. He has counseled and supported clients in all aspects of intellectual property, protecting and managing assets, prosecuting U.S. and foreign applications and drafting and negotiating worldwide agreements for licensing technology and patent rights.

His litigation experience in state, federal and administrative courts encompasses patent, trademark, copyright and international matters. Mr. Sanchelima has been an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association since 1987 and has been a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), International Trademark Association (INTA), South Florida Patent Law Association (SFPLA) and the Asociación Interamericana de Propiedad Industrial (ASIPI).
